was brilliant!
charley and me arrived quite early, and were a few people away from the front of the queue. when we went in, we walked around lots of the stalls and got shits loads of free stuff like bags/goodie bags, a t-shirt, this light thing, sweets, cds, artrocker magazine, badges etc, a book, photo things. oh and a ‘paint your own own gnome’ set LOL. i almost forgot about that.
then we saw one of the first bands, the ruskins who were good and kaya scodelario (effy from skins) was on stage with them, dancing. erm i can’t remember what we did after that, went to a few more stalls i think, and later met laurie and lily. we also met amy and blaise. oh, there was a stall about writing where you wrote a short story and then one of the artists illustrated it and put it on the wall and charley and me wrote a rather random one, “once upon a time there was a boy who played football + he used to wear a dress + when he dribbled the ball, he would dribble it under his dress while being chased by fairies + gnomes + he would yell, “CITY COUNCIL, HELP!” strange, yes. but it made the artist laugh and amused us for the rest of the day. (city council, help! good times, eh charley.)
later we met mystery jets! it was at the signing tent. we started to queue whilst esser was still there but he ended up leaving early as nobody else wanted to see him, they were all waiting for mystery jets. this also amused charley and me. however what didn’t amused us was that we were in the queue for over an hour because mystery jets were also soooo late. but hey, they signed my bag and spelt my name wrong.
i can’t remember what we did after that either, but i know we met up with laurie and lily again and queued to meet the horrors and they left when we were five minutes away from meeting them. argh.
after that we saw santigold who did a really good set. then we saw the temper trap for a bit. then a bit of golden silvers. THEN I SAW THE HORRORS! i felt kind of bad though, because charley felt unwell, so went to sit down but said i could still see the horrors. and i saw them. but they were really amazing, faris is so fucking cool. and the crowd was mental too haha. so glad i wore my pumps as opposed to my loafers. got battered on the side of two mosh pits.
the last act i saw was ladyhawke, me and charley had a really great time at her set, we couldn’t find laurie and lily though. it was quite funny because people were throwing beanbags etc about and i found a frisbee and threw it some where and i think it hit someone in the face. lol. i think i enjoyed her set the most, cause even though i love the horrors, it kind of hurts when you get burnt on the arm by people’s cigarettes - twice. actually, i think one of the times was a splif.
anyway, it was a really amazing day. and now, i don’t know what else to write. so… yeah….
city council, help!
